Effortless Style, Thoughtfully Made
Founded in Colombo in 2019, Dandelion has grown the way its namesake flower does — quietly, resiliently, one season at a time.
“Girls resonated with our styles, and we made it our mission to keep giving them more of what they liked.”
Nethmini Dasanayake, Creative Director
From a Small Idea to a Growing Label
The Beginning
Nethmini Dasanayake founded Dandelion shortly after finishing school, while waiting on university admission — something small and lowkey.
A Different Kind of Making
When lockdowns eased, Dandelion pivoted to 3-ply protective masks in colours and prints. What began as a necessity quickly turned into a style statement, popular with both men and women — the early success that helped Dandelion grow into the brand it is today.
Back to Clothing
Mask sales gave way to what came next: the brand returned to clothing, its original passion. Girls resonated with our styles, and we made it our mission to keep giving them more of what they liked.
Formal Training
Nethmini was selected to study Fashion Design and Product Development at the University of Moratuwa — a turning point, though balancing studies and the brand was never easy.
A Necessary Pause
By the end of 2022, things had to slow down as coursework took priority over the brand.
Stepping Away
Nethmini stepped away completely during her internship — a bittersweet pause, but one that gave her valuable experience.
Back Stronger
Dandelion is back stronger, more focused, and here to stay — not just about fashion, but about creating styles that connect, inspire confidence, and stay true to the women who wear them.
Simplicity and Sophistication
The brand is built on simplicity and sophistication. Like the flower it's named for, Dandelion stands for growth, resilience, and beauty in simplicity.
Clean Silhouettes
Quality Fabrics
Timeless Appeal
Growth, resilience, and beauty in simplicity — just like the flower itself.
And this is only the beginning.
